Climbing holiday in Austria

Climb the highest mountain in Austria’s Lungau!

I know, I know, I’m becoming a bit of a climbing freak, but it’s so much fun, great exercise and really rewarding. I think I might be addicted! This week I did a huge climb up Hoch Golling, which is the highest mountain in Austria’s Lungau region – about an hour south of Salzburg.

I don’t want to blow my own trumpet but it was pretty hard and I think I might be the first ever ‘English lady’ to conquer the summit. At 2,862 metres, Hoch Golling is Lungau’s highest peak and one we can organise for guests to climb and conquer too!

The highest mountain in the whole of Austria is Grossglockner (in German written as Großglockner). It’s a massive 3,782 metres tall!

My climbing skills have probably got a way to go before I take that one on, but if any of our guests want a fab climb then let me know…maybe I just need a climb buddy or two to help me hit the summit!
