Our ten luxury chalets are positioned around a natural, spring-fed pond. In the winter, we keep one end of the pond open, as some of our braver guests like to enjoy a mid-sauna chill-out, Austrian style (if any of you want to try the authentic Lungau sauna experience, I’m sure Herby will happily demonstrate!)
In the summertime, the pond is perfect for dangling your toes in to cool off – Austrian summers are easily hot enough for some lake-side sunbathing (we’re only an hour from Italy, don’t forget!).
St Martin Chalets Layout
At one end of our central facilities you’ll find our sauna, communal showers and relaxation area – where you can wrap yourself in a dressing gown, read a magazine and maybe have a little snooze. This is something of an Austrian tradition – usually combined with a sauna – and again, we’ll happily give you instructions on how to make the most of it.
At the other end of the central building is our gym, mini-wine cellar and gluwein barrel (where you can sample and/or purchase), and our reception area, which is manned at selected hours every day in case you need any help making arrangements, booking ski school or finding nice places to visit.

Each chalet has…
We run the resort as a cooperative, so each of our chalets is privately owned and all beautifully appointed. They are all slightly different and decorated with the owners’ love (you can see the details of the individual chalets by clicking their pictures to the right) but they all share the following core components and facilities.

- (Some have a cute loft conversion featuring 4 further single beds)
- At least one en-suite bedroom
- At least three toilets, including one on the ground floor, with toilet paper provided
- At least 2 bath/shower rooms (some have 3 and one has 3 en-suites!)

Each of our ten chalets is privately owned, which means they are all both individual and furnished to a high standard. The standard chalet layout offers 3 double bedrooms, one of which can be made into a twin. Bedrooms are furnished with hand-crafted wardrobes and beds, and come with fluffy towels and crisp cotton bedlinen provided. The master bedroom has an ensuite and its own private balcony, while the other two bedrooms share a bath/shower room and separate WC. All bedrooms have breathtaking mountain views and each of our chalets is kept wonderfully warm, thanks to real sheep’s wool insulation, combined with state-of-the-art underfloor heating. Several of the chalets have a converted loft space, which is a haven for teens and can sleep up to 4 extra people. You can see each chalet’s layout by clicking the pictures of them to the right >
The spacious open plan living area is equipped with large, comfy sofa, flat-screen digital TV and DVD player. A large selection of DVDs is available from reception, although you’re welcome to bring your own. Some chalets have games consoles, most have books and some have board games, although please ask in advance, as each one is different. Perhaps the favourite feature with most guests is the traditional ‘Kachelofen’ wood fire – a feature that is common to all the chalets. We’ll light this for you each day on request and firewood is supplied free of charge.
The dining tables seat up to 10 people, although you could squeeze more in if you wanted to. You can spend many a long evening in good company dining, wining and taking time to play games together. We know, because we often join in (don’t worry – only when we’re invited!!).
Our fully fitted kitchens are handbuilt from 300-year-old larch and granite work surfaces. All chalets have a dishwasher, oven, grill and hob, as well as a complete supply of pots, pans, cutlery, crockery and drinking glasses. For those of you who don’t particularly want to cook, we offer a variety of catering and food delivery options, as well as stocking your fridge and cupboards prior to your arrival. See more about eating in and eating out.
Wet ski boots and coats will be nice and dry by morning, as each chalet has a separate utility room equipped with a heated boot drying machine.
A patio door leads from the living area to a beautiful, private, natural stoned terrace with wooden garden furniture and spectacular views.
Each chalet has an off-road parking space as well as access to the communal under-cover car port.
