pet friendly holiday accommodation in st michael im lungau
In winter, your four legged friend will have the most amazing time bounding about in the snow or along valley paths.
In summer, you and your dog will enjoy acres of wonderful countryside right on our doorstep, with hundreds of miles of valley and mountain tracks to discover.
This is why St Martin Chalets really is the perfect pet friendly ski and chalet holiday destination.
Here’s some lovely feedback (August 2016):
“Hi Jodi, Thanks once again for a wonderful stay at your gorgeous Chalets! We had a great time and felt very welcome! We enjoyed all the home comforts and special treats like the use of the Sauna and dips in the pond. My dogs felt equally at home and loved all the adventurous walks and swimming in the river and mountain lakes 🙂 We were able to take them with us wherever we went including mountain lifts (cable car), activities and local restaurants, which made it hassle free all round.”
For ease, if you’re travelling from outside of Austria, please see see this info on bringing your dog to Austria and other EU countries and Austrian pet quarantine rules.
Below are a few photos and a video, showing just how much we love dogs and what fun you can have with your own dog here in Lungau and the Austrian Alps. As with all accommodation providers, we need to add a small supplement of €30 to our chalet price for any pet or dog you’d like to accompany you on your holiday.
jimbo and his mountain rescue friends in action
We also have our own labrador, called Jimbo, who is a trained mountain rescue dog, and who accompanies us on many of our guided hikes.
In their roles as ‘Bergführer’ (literally, mountain leader) and mountain rescue dog, Herby and Jimbo are on constant alert for search and rescue operations. It’s fascinating to watch them work and, when time permits, Herby often takes groups to the adventure playground, sending any willing young volunteers out to be rescued.
Occasionally you’ll even find Jimbo catching the gondola up to Speiereck with us, as there’s nothing he loves more than having a quick run down the beginners’ slope as you can see in this video!
