For those of you who are thinking about booking a ski holiday in Austria for later in 2014 (maybe March or April), please make sure you check the snow conditions. Although here in Lungau we have had record-breaking snowfalls, much of the rest of Austria has not been so lucky.

I was in the rolling green countryside of Salzburg yesterday and couldn’t believe my eyes. They have had almost no snow at all, as is the case with most of the low lying Tyrolean resorts.

We try to be as open with our guests as possible, and we know that sometimes you just want something different. If you want dancing girls and rowdy Euro-pop bars on the mountain, we’ll probably advise you to head for Ischgl or St Anton. But this year things are different. If you want decent snow, head south.

Once again we had non-stop snow all day today. There’s over two metres on Katschberg now! Further south they’ve even had too much snow. Some people have had to cancel their holidays, as they literally can’t access the resorts!!

Here in Lungau it’s going to be a long season, and a good one! Although we’re reasonably fully booked, we still have a few chalets to fill after 15th March. If you feel like treating yourself to some end-of-season skiing, this is a great place to head this year. Drop us a line if you’d like to reserve a space!

Lots of love,
Jodi xx
