Ski holidays in Katschberg will involve all kinds of fabulous runs – a long green, several blues and reds, and a couple of blacks and the further you head away from the village, the more deserted the runs become. Here the wide open, empty pistes often maintain their freshly-pisted surface througout the day, which – combined with the lack of people and a perfect gradient – makes this an ideal place for a spot of carving.
Ski holidays in Katschberg
After Speiereck, Katschberg is the nearest ski area to our self catering chalets and offers a very convenient and lively alternative. To access the lifts, you can jump on the ski bus just 200 metres from your front door and get off at the top of the Katschberg pass. From here you can catch one of a number of chairlifts – some of which take you up onto Katschberg itself and one of which takes you up onto Aineck (and on to another ski area).
When snow conditions permit, you can opt to ski down from Katschberg (perhaps after the apres ski, which is well worth experiencing!) to the base of the valley via a long, twisty blue run. This brings you out next to the road just as it enters the outskirts of St Michael and from here it’s only a couple of minutes on the bus to get home to your wood burner and a well-deserved drink!
Don’t forget to enjoy ski holidays in Obertauern too, our largest single ski area, boasting 100km of runs!
